Yesterday we filled our glasses with some bubbly and toasted to another challenge completed at Buffalo Barre. We enjoyed all 29 days of teaching our signature classes as well as creating new classes like Zumba, Foam Rolling, Self-Defense, Tai Chi, Learn and Burn Barre for Beginners and more! We loved seeing all of the new faces in class and the camaraderie formed between both new and old clients. 

Congratulations to ALL 65 women who participated. What an incredible community of women we have at Buffalo Barre. Thank you for making Buffalo Barre what it is.

Meet Nora

Q: What do you teach at Buffalo Barre and when?

A: Even though I’m now living in sunny Florida, my heart will forever be in Buffalo.  I am an instructor in Buffalo Barre’s online videos and when I am fortunate enough to be in Buffalo, I am a “guest” teacher.  I am always a little startled when I bring my ‘challenging’ moves and they are mastered with ease and grace by the women at Buffalo Barre.  This says a lot about the level of instruction offered at Buffalo Barre! This community is so fantastic, so supportive of each other.  I am so grateful to be a part of buffaloBARRE.

Q: Why are you passionate about fitness?

A: Two words:  endorphin rush.  That’s all it took for me to be completely hooked!  Throw in the energy of friends doing the same thing and that is pure gold!  No better way to start the day, kick off the weekend, than getting in a good workout with friends. Side bar bonus is that my jeans fit better. Your body is designed to move, and feels best when you’re testing the limits, doing 8 more reps, finding that magic in the workout.

Q: What are some of your hobbies?

A: You’re going to think I’m weird, but my hobbies are scouring the Internet, looking for new ways to tighten Glutes and Abs. Yes, weird.

Q: What is you favorite way to relax?

A: “Detox & Re-tox” with my sister-in-law.  I’m not sure where I get the better ab workout – during the actual workout, or sharing giggles afterwards.

Q: What is your favorite way to give back?

A: “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” So very true.  I’m so blessed to be able to share my gifts with the community ~ by helping in the local soup kitchen and working with a cardiac patient doing rehab in the water.  Two very different activities, both of which fill me right up.

Q: What is your favorite cheat food?

A: Is wine considered food?!?

Q: Favorite role model?

A: Maria McKendry, Owner of Buffalo Barre! Seriously. No one is more dedicated, motivated, kind, generous, funny, intelligent and more committed to sharing her gifts.  Maria is tireless, constantly changing things up to keep it interesting, keep people challenged and motivated. We are infinitely fortunate to have her as the Boss-Lady!!

Q: What do you like about buffaloBARRE?

A: The list is endless.  Top of the list is the community of warm, friendly, supportive, and smart women that make each class an exciting experience. The constant encouragement of each other is definitely not the norm in other studios.  It is so refreshing to be a part of such a wonderful group of women.  A real honor.

Meet Lisa!

Lisa has been an instructor at Buffalo Barre for several years and was a client at our old studio before she started teaching with us. She’s been a part of our community at Buffalo Barre for ~ 6 years!

Q: What do you teach at Buffalo Barre and when?

A: Buffalo Barre Burn, Tues/Thurs 930am, Buffalo Barre Sculpt Fri 9:30am.

Q: Why are you passionate about fitness?

A: I felt like I was ‘home’ the first time I walked into Buffalo Barre. I love hearing everyone’s story for being there and feel thankful to be a part of it.

Q: What are your hobbies outside of Buffalo Barre?

A: Shopping, dancing, spending time with my kids.

Q: What is your favorite way to relax?

A: Having a glass of wine & watching the Buffalo bills🏈

Q: Favorite way to give back to the community?

A: Volunteering with the Junior League of Buffalo. Another great community of women I’m proud to be a part of.

Q: Favorite cheat food?

A: Pizza!

Q: Who is your role model?

A: My mom💕 all who know her, love her

Q: What do you like about Buffalo Barre?

A: Everything! The space is amazing, the clients work hard and support one another and I get to share my love for Barre with some pretty incredible women.
