The buffaloBARRE® Instructor Training Program is recognized by the American Council on Exercise (ACE), The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and The Athletic and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) as an approved continuing education provider.

1.) What prerequisites are necessary to enroll in the buffaloBARRE® Course Instructor Training Program?
In order to take the buffaloBARRE® Course Instructor Training Program, you must be at least 18 years of age and have a background in Pilates, fitness, yoga, dance, or a health related field.
2.) What are the objectives of the course?
At the conclusion of the buffaloBARRE® Course Instructor Training Program, students will be able to:
- teach a buffaloBARRE® class using principles of physical therapy exercises, Pilates, ballet and yoga.
- teach with emphasis on proper form and alignment.
- give modifications to make the class appropriate for beginners to advanced students.
- identify and teach which muscle groups are being worked for each exercise.
- use effective demonstration, verbal and tactile cueing
- develop choreography skills by following the signature flow of a buffaloBARRE® class with room for creativity.
- lead a class with confidence and professionalism.
- instruct with use of props such as balls, weights, resistive tubing, balance discs; to add a dynamic challenge as needed to the class.
3.) What is required to complete the buffaloBARRE® Course Instructor Training Program?
Participants must attend both days of the course and successfully pass a written exam at the end of the course as well as a final practical exam within 60 days of the course completion date. To receive certification, you must send in a video of yourself teaching a one hour sample buffaloBARRE® class within 60 days of course completion. In the video, you are required to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the components of the class, the flow of the class, the buffaloBARRE® Instructor technique and you must execute teaching the class with confidence, clarity, skill and professionalism. If your first video does not pass, you may submit another video within 30 days for a fee of $50.

6.) When is the buffaloBARRE® Course Instructor Training Program held?
The next course will be held on Sat., Sept. 22, 11:30am – 5:30pm, Sun. Sept. 23 11:30am – 5:30pm.
We will travel to your location if you have a group of 5 or more that want to take the course.
We offer this 2 day intensive course 3 times per year at our studio location, 5843 Transit Rd., East Amherst, NY 14051. Winter, Spring and Fall. Please call the studio for dates and times. 716.880.7049.
7.) What is the cost of the program?
The cost of the buffaloBARRE® Course Instructor Training Program is $599. Course size is limited. You can register online or call 716.880.7049. All fees must be paid in full by the start of the course. All fees are non-refundable, no exchanges, no transfers.
8.) How do I maintain my buffaloBARRE® Certification?
To maintain your buffaloBARRE® certification, you must re-certify every year by submitting a $50 fee and watching buffaloBARRE® videos containing exercises which will count as your continuing education.
9.) Can I use the buffaloBARRE® name, logo and class names?
The buffaloBARRE® logo is a registered trademark. Upon completion of the course, you can state you are buffaloBARRE® certified to teach barre classes but you cannot use our logo or name to sell your classes or market your business etc.
10.) Where can I teach the buffaloBARRE® technique?
You can teach anywhere…(gym, studio, dance studio) or you can apply to teach at our studio if there’s a need for instructors.
11.) Is this certification nationally recognized?
Yes. The buffaloBARRE® Course Instructor Training Program is approved by The American Council on Exercise. COURSE TITLE: The buffaloBARRE® Course Instructor Training Program. COURSE NUMBER: cep97724. Upon completion of the course 1.1 CEC credits and a Certificate of Completion from The American Council on Exercise (ACE) is awarded.
